A brain surgeon would have enough money to be able to afford to pay someone else to clean his home and look after his kids.

Maybe he thinks the woman he loves would do a better job with his (and her own) kids than a woman they pay. I'm making this point from the woman's perspective. Maybe making a home is more fun than brain surgery, especially if that's where one's talents lie.

And why not encourage more women to become doctors and surgeons?

No one should have to be "encouraged" to become anything. They should be permitted to do so, and I have no problem with that. But this article disses women who choose to rear their own children for making that choice. I find that outrageous.
