About sixty years ago, a friend showed me a set of "German" button labels for the switches in his car. I remember der puttergesparken, das glimmerblinken, and die drizzleflippen. (I may have the articles wrong - I don't really remember.) In English, there is no noun that can't be verbed; in German, there is nothing that can't be nouned.
