"All factors related to the expansion of the universe from the Hubble constant, which relates to the rate of expansion to the acceleration to jerk and snap can be, in principle, measured from cosmic redshift."

I'm happy to admit that I don't understand the physics, but this sentence just doesn't parse. I get this when I try to make it work:

"All factors related to the expansion of the universe - from the Hubble constant (which relates to the rate of expansion), to acceleration, to jerk and snap - can be, in principle, measured from cosmic redshift."

Is that right?

"The jerk of the universe is predicted to be one."

Acceleration is measured in distance per time squared. Wouldn't jerk be measured as distance per time cubed? Or is "one" not a number in that sentence but a referent like "Six months ago I couldn't spel 'salesmun' and now I are one?" In which case, one what?
