All of this is true, but railing about guns in America is a bit like complaining about piss in the milk bucket. The problem is not that it's there; the problem is that it cannot be removed.

In America, whatever the case elsewhere, if guns are outlawed, the outlaws will still have guns. Maybe worse, the "patriots" will still have guns. Those of us who actually care about democracy and elections and such things will need the protections of the Second amendment to save us from the Nazis. We will need to arm ourselves against the "Second Amendment types" that love the Orange Asshole.

The "militias" have the right idea about the role of an armed populace. It is essential to the preservation of liberty. Unfortunately, it is also essential to the destruction of liberty by morons who think they are defending it. What a piece of work is man!
