As of now, the Republicans have done their duty. They voted for the bi-partisan bill, giving Biden a great victory IF he can get the bill past the House. At the House/Senate level, though, this is a win for McConnell. He delivered the votes for the bi-partisan bill. If it passes, his party can share in the credit. But if it fails, every Republican candidate in 2022 will point one finger at a decaying bridge and one finger at Nancy Pelosi and the President for not having the political chops to wrangle their party to a compromise reconciliation bill.

The Democrats need to agree on their reconciliation bill quickly, or they need to pass the bi-partisan bill without it. Holding the bridges hostage is a losing strategy. Does AOC really want Trump back in the White House?
