Boy, this allyship is exhausting! Maybe people should fight their own battles and ask only that the rest of us get out of the way.

Why do you give a rat's patoot whether you have earned your "ally" merit badge? Do what you do to help if you want to help. If it isn't "tangible" enough or "ongoing" enough for some fool whose kids are going to have trouble hyphenating their names when they get married, so be it. Earn your self-esteem by your own standards, not others.

Allyship is a trap. Try too little and you're not an ally. Try too much and you're a White Savior. Do you. Be a good man by your lights. The fine print amounts to nothing more than "Read the room."
