Definitely half right. The impeachment fiasco was a failure of leadership and stupid politics.

But the House coronavirus bill was just theater. It wasn’t meant to go anywhere. Its purpose was, indeed, virtue signaling, but it also implemented the time-honored sleazeball trick all legislative leaders do of getting the other side to “vote against” things the leaders’ base likes. Come November, all the Dems in the House will run on all the things in the coronavirus bill that the evil GOP voted Reps voted against. No mention will be made of the context.
