Dr. West uses liberal logic, a sort of non-Euclidean smeary thing that does not recognize certain fallacies. Like "Some conservatives are assholes. A is an asshole. Therefore, A is a conservative."

Dr. West could strike a blow for intellectual honesty - not his wheelhouse, but still - by losing "conservative" from his totalitarian rants. Thing is, he has a dominant agenda - putting down conservatives - and the cause du jour is just an excuse for doing that.

Everything he says about the awfulness of anti-vaxxers, at least in the CoVid setting, is true. Everything, that is, except that they are "conservative." I consider myself conservative, and I think anti-vaxxers are morally equivalent to draft-dodgers. Because, as a conservative (perhaps), I believe in the draft when there's a war to fight. Self-styled "conservatives" who believe that liberty is about your right to infect others and incubate variants are not "conservatives." They are assholes and/or morons.

But I think Dr. West knows this. I think his purpose is to associate bad thinking with the word "conservative," because he is a leftist, and the opportunity is too good to pass up. I'll admit that the conservatives in question are doing the heavy lifting here by being stupid and associating this particular bit of stupidity with conservative values. But here's the thing: If you don't believe conservatives are right about anything else, why believe they know what being conservative means? For the most part, they don't. But that's not because they are conservatives. It's because they are stupid.
