Every "positive freedom" commands someone to do something. It is Orwellian to call such compulsions "freedoms," which, I suppose, is why the Soviets concocted the idea long ago.
I am not putting down the political demands of workers. They are getting the short end of the stick, economically and politically. But I prefer a UBI - a good citizenship dividend - as a way to balance their bargaining power so that they can exercise their negative freedoms to speak, march, boycott, and vote with less fear of economic reprisal in one form or another.
I do not oppose all of the political demands of workers; I just want important words, like "freedom" (there are others, e.g., "racism") not to be diluted by the dishonest appropriation of their connotations.
