I am much more optimistic.

First, I believe that Trumpists will go back to not caring about politics as soon as the COVID pandemic is behind us. They will find that Biden didn't try to take their earnings, guns, jobs, or healthcare. Rather, he will have begun to rebuild the infrastructure and repair America's status as a world leader, the economy will surge, and the pandemic called Trumpism will be over.

Biden's partner in this effort will be Mitch McConnell. That is not a compliment; Mitch is the worst person to have occupied our political stage in fifty years. His obstructionism got us Trump, and he should rot in hell forever on account of it.

Nevertheless, asshole that McConnell is, he has has achieved his goal of putting conservatives in the courthouse, and now he has a legislative legacy to build. His obstruction was tactical, and I believe he believes that obstruction will not serve HIS best interests this time around. He will work to create bi-partisan solutions that he could not let Obama get credit for solving.

One must ask why McConnell didn't work with Speaker Pelosi to produce some bi-partisan bills during Trump's term. My guess is that Trump would have signed ANY bi-partisan bill, because he care only about taking credit for the bill's passing, whatever it might actually do. I suspect the Dems' attitude toward Trump was like the GOP's toward Obama - better to be blamed for failure than to give the other guy credit for success.

I also suspect that McConnell wasn't really interested in keeping Trump around. Mitch IS the swamp. He IS a politician. He almost certainly has no use for Trump except as a catspaw. Trump appointed judges for Mitch, and Mitch didn't curse the ground Trump walked on. That was the deal. Now, Biden and McConnell (assuming Georgia doesn’t produce two Democrat Senators) may work together to move things along, because that’s what McConnell’s reputation most needs.

Let’s give Joe some time to unscare the Trumpists and see what happens.
