I am sorry to say that Mr. Campbell’s judgment has not improved. He’s only jumped from one bad choice to another.

Elizabeth Warren, like Trump, is a messianic candidate. She is mad as hell and she’s gonna blow up the place to make it better. Medicare for all? You mean VA for all, right? Because, as John Delaney — who actually does share Mr. Campbell’s values — said, M4A will underfund the industry.

There are sane Democrats. They are all white men, but that’s the breaks. Ryan, Bullock, Bennet, and Delaney are poli-sci conservatives, i.e., they understand that the problem is the voter, not the system. The Dems can win in the Electoral College without abolishing it, and they can fix Obamacare by subsidizing insurance companies to cover the cost of adverse selection and controlling their prices like public utilities. A tweak here, and adjustment there, problem solved. Just get Mitch out of the way.

Rather then get rid of the filibuster, the Dems should restore it as it existed when Mr. Smith went to Washington. The problem is not the filibuster; it’s the rule that allows a virtual filibuster. If these moronic Republicans actually had to speak for hours to block every judge, judges would not be blocked. Nothing radical is necessary. A small leak can let out all of the water, but it is still a small leak and, if it can be plugged, there is no reason to get a new bucket. (Sorry, Gov. Inslee, this issue shows you’re not a deep thinker.)

But Lizzie Warren? No, thanks. Donald has already taken an axe to our founding fathers. I want a President whose highest priority is making Congress respected again.
