I don't believe "judging" is the right word. We live in a world where (i) sexual attraction at work is bad for efficiency and marriages, and (ii) women are culturally the ones who use appearance to attract. Thus, strictly as a matter of probabilities, if you want a happy business life, make an ugly woman your business wife.

My point is not that our cultural attitudes are, or are not, appropriate. I'm just saying that the competence of the individual to do a job is not the same as the desirability of having that person on a team. We should not assume that the "bimbo" effect isn't really a "bombshell" effect.
