I don't have political leanings worthy of a label. I'm just quoting the Founders, post-revolution, regarding the dangers of a standing army and the Founders' perceived remedy, an armed populace. None of their concerns may still be justified, if they ever were, but tyranny was their concern, so the Second Amendment is about tyranny.
A more interesting exercise, I think, would be an argument that the Amendment should be repealed or modified. But trying to reimagine what it is "about" doesn't work for me.
