I'd say 90% James Bond and 10% Chuck Norris. The Bond references are explicit; West often introduced himself as "West, James West," and the villains were straight out of SMERSH or whatever that other one was.

The ScreenPix Western cable channel ran a WWW marathon New Year’s Day or thereabouts. I recorded the whole thing and am working my way through it. When you binge watch, you notice how the sets, and particularly the oriental rugs, are re-used, something that may slip your mind if you're watching one episode a week.
