I'm a young 77. Gingrich's short-sighted and destructive hardball (which McConnell also plays) is important, but their object was to win elections, not deny their outcome.

Trump is uniquely bad, and those who do not denounce him deserve to be disliked for their lack of character. Romney could have been friends with Mike Lee before Trump. (They were not political adversaries, so appeals to comity aren't even relevant here.) Chuck Schumer could have been friends with Mike Lee, before Trump. But Trump is the low tide that shows who's morally naked. Mike Lee is standing there with his junk hanging out, and I don't see how any decent leader can refuse to endorse McMullin over him.
