I have offered a constructive idea: Don't make DEI education mandatory. That's a far cry from emptying the bathtub. Outreach to communities of color etc. makes a lot of sense. I'm sure there are other ways to attract a more diverse pool of applicants, faculty, and staff, and I have no problem with them. My only complaint is the curriculum. College students are adults. Mandatory socialization just pisses them off. You said people hated the first try. Why did you think rearranging the deck chairs would improve things?
