It is very frustrating to argue against a lying sack of shit like McConnell. Every example of his awfulness raises the possibility that there are times when he is not awful. That's a mistake. He was scum before the election, and he is scum after the election.

The Republicans are all about false equivalency. Their speeches in the current impeachment debate complain of a double standard, AS IF any prior event posed so direct a threat to the actual conduct of our governance. Sure, bad actors rioted in Portland, and sure, some Democrats complained too little about it and urged too little action to stop it. But January 6 was about sedition, not "garden variety" rioting. And January 6 was endorsed by the President, in his "it's going to be wild" and in his failure, like the dog in the night time, to urge his followers NOT to be violent.

But I digress. McConnell is a lying sack of shit. If it's true that you are what you eat, he has already fulfilled half of my wish for him.
