It's cute to see anti-capitalists pretend to fight capitalism's "best" arguments. As if anyone who understood capitalism's best arguments would even be anti-capitalist.

The best argument for capitalism is simple: there is nothing better. Only a coherent presentation of an historically durable, large-scale alternative where the people are better off than under capitalism would do to debunk that argument. Everything else is misdirection.

So, the (laughable) counterexamples adduced to rebut the advertised benefits of capitalism are beside the point. Until something better comes along, capitalism will remain the only game in town worth playing. The beast must be tamed, but only an idiot would put it down.

[Mr. Ferguson styles himself an "entrepreneur." What would he be if his unstated alternative to capitalism were operating? An aparachik? Manager of a state-run company making things no one wants?]
