The way to end police violence is for some of the people who complain about the police to BECOME police. Better cops, better treatment. Duh.

But no, we have to listen to crap about how once upon a time police chased slaves. As if that somehow means that a modern society doesn't need a police force. As the old saying goes, any stick is good enough to beat a dog. So why not trot out some irrelevant, racially charged factoid that sounds relevant if you say it fast enough?
