Making a payment for which one expects to be reimbursed by the candidate himself is not a crime. Nor is a plea deal EVIDENCE of a crime. The public record proves that Cohen pleaded and was convicted. It does not prove the allocuted facts.
Where does it say that Trump’s personal account or trust is a business? But even if it is, if Trump paid Cohen with his own money, there is no crime for the cooked books to conceal. The too-late misdemeanor may remain, but the concealment felony is gone.
Nothing about this case is clear enough for you to get so huffy about. Why do you think Bragg refused to say what crime Trump was concealing, if it’s so obvious? The indictment doesn’t identify the crime, the Statement of Facts doesn’t identify the crime, and when asked by the press, Bragg said that he was not obliged to identify it until trial. But YOU are sure what it is. Ok. I’m not. Let’s just see what happens.
