More elitist bullshit. Rich people don’t marry for the same reasons as poor ones. Poor people marry to get the advantages of specialization: one works at providing, one works at nurturing. They train in their childhood to do those things, and then they do them. It is how they compete in a competitive world.

Rich people marry because it’s nice to have a default date and because it maximizes their chances of producing genetically suitable children (by their standards). They don’t need to be “husband” and “wife,” because they don’t need to specialize.

In other words, they don’t fucking count in a discussion of how the other 99% gets through life. So let’s not pretend that they do.
