My older son turns 50 in January, so you can "OK, Boomer" me if you wish. (My younger son is a millennial, and he does it all the time.) Old ideas aren’t ipso facto obsolete. Some are. But I’m not wedded to ideas just because they’re old. I have actually been thinking, and writing, about the “post-jobs” economy for some time.

I’d be perfectly happy if someone came up with a new paradigm. We must replace “you eat what you kill,” but I would start with a UBI and move on from there. Bad institutions should be supplanted by better ones, not razed on the hope that something better will come along. Nature, including the human kind, does not deal well with vacuums.
