Nope. Just peace and prosperity for their kids. What's that worth?
As Meir - maybe apocryphally, nonetheless accurately - observed, peace will come when they love their children more than they hate us. Medieval minds look backward and nurse grievances; modern minds look ahead and make progress. What could be more valuable than bringing a culture out of the dark and into the light?
My own view is that the creation of Israel was a bad idea whose time had come, a product of gentile anti-Semitism; the West expiated its guilt by inflicting pain on the Palestinians. Talk about scapegoating!
But what's done is done, and revanchism is only a good strategy until it isn't. At this point, the losses Palestinians have suffered, the ones you have named, would not be cured by total victory. If Israel just went away, the land there, from the river to the sea, would become a shit-hole like Yemen. How, exactly would that improve anyone's life?
