"Pick me girl" sounds like what the modal (statistically) woman calls the elite (and elitist) feminist woman who can afford not to exploit la difference in attracting a mate. Most girls find that being "girly" works for them, and they are threatened by behavior that suggests competence and self-reliance are stronger attractants than beauty and protectability. As one of my ironically uxorious friends says, a husband's role is to protect and serve. Most men feel that way, and so most women play to that feeling. The outliers can outlie, but they will take some heat for rocking the boat.
