Remember that our electorate is not very subtle. If Biden has a successful presidency (measured by the economic health of the White working class), he will run again and win again. Then he can resign on account of some health thing, and his VP, whether or not a good politician, will become President. By 2028, Trumpism will have become a bad dream, like that season of Dallas that went so badly that Bobby had to wake up from it.

Harris was an affirmative action hire. Biden chose her after saying in the primaries that he would name a woman running mate. Talk about disqualifying half of the population on the basis of sex! RBG would have been horrified, no doubt. Harris comes across as the Anti-Biden - a walking study in insincerity, starting with that shameful "little girl" baloney at the primary debate. It's not that she played the race card, which is not cool but also not out-of-bounds ; it's that she played it so poorly...

Someone like Tim Ryan or Sheldon Whitehouse should be the Dems' next candidate. Whether the party can find a way to make that happen - parties, as gatekeepers, have become completely feckless in the era of social media disintermediation - remains to be seen.
