I don't mean to be dismissive. Rich America should do what it can to relieve Black people of the lingering effects of slavery and current effects of racism. And we should not be stingy about that. But the way to fund such action is to print the money and allow the economic growth that comes of fully integrating Black people into economic life "pay for" the project.

The only discomfort White Americans should experience should come from the added competition for goodies made possible by enabling Black people to compete for them. Full participation is all that there will ever be a consensus to achieve. SPENDING trillions to achieve that full participation is fine, but GIVING trillions to individuals as compensation is a nonstarter.
