Republicans Find Their (little) VOICE

DOGE is a little bit catastrophic

Turn on the mainstream media and you will see a Republican senator or representative lamenting the damage DOGE is doing. But the speech is always the same, something like: “My constituents and I are 100% behind what President Trump has asked DOGE to do. We need to get rid of waste, fraud, and abuse in the government! I do wish, however, that DOGE [would be a little bit more compassionate] [would move a little bit more deliberately].” It’s always a “little bit” of something that DOGE’s chainsaw needs.

Of course, when Trump’s Congressional ass-kissers say “I wish DOGE would act a little bit more compassionately,” they mean “These incompetent morons are out of control.” That’s what they’ve been hearing at town halls, but they’ve solved that problem. They are not going to have town halls. If you can’t hear your constituents’ anger, it doesn’t exist. With any luck, someone will have the sense to set up a town hall and invite the representative to appear. (I live in a blue district, so don’t look at me.) If the community yells at an empty chair, the message will still be received and disseminated. These bozos can run, but they can’t hide.

We did learn yesterday that Amy Gleason is the Acting Administrator of DOGE. I wonder if she knew that. It seems that if she did know it, she did not think anyone would be told. Reports are that she is on vacation in Mexico. That makes sense, in Trump World, where “incredibly transparent” means “you can’t believe anything we say” — proof that you don’t have to read Orwell — does anyone believe Karoline Leavitt has ever read a serious book? — to be Orwellian.

That’s all, folks (Tom said, allusively).
