Same is so for the teletransporter case, just because the teletransporter taker wants to preserve his sense of self, doesn’t make it the case that he has.

Of course he has preserved his sense of self. Otherwise, the duplicate wouldn't be identical to him.

The problem with the question is that it is being asked without a purpose. Why do we care? Are we going to say that the duplicate is not married to the original's wife? That his children aren't his children? What consequence do you have in mind for the determination?
