So, it’s not important to have Chinese role models unless your children are Chinese?

Is it only important for white people to have Chinese role models? Have you moved to be near Chinese role models? Indian role models? Sephardic role models? Quechua role models?

The idea that anyone should seek out any group other than those sharing their heritage or the heritage of an adoptee is absurd on its face, because there are so many choices. Why would one be any better than any other? Why would choosing one not be an insult to all the others? Or is there some magical place where people of every ethnicity worthy of providing role models are present and living out their heritage?

These parents who try to expose their kids to people who look like them, people who are more likely than not going to provide mating opportunities for them, are doing the right thing. Calling them on it is self-indulgent nonsense.
