You appeared to be arguing that these services represent a trend toward de-integration of the financial services industry. My guess is that the best of the services you are using will be bought up by financial powerhouses and integrated "under the hood" into something users cannot see but can enjoy.

Bitcoin and Ethereum are different in many ways, but to the extent their supporters cite decentralization as a feature, they are philosophically alike, and I am not persuaded by the argument in that dimension. I also agree that there is a continuum from decentralization to centralization, but I believe the current arrangement is probably as good as it gets. Less centralization increases the risk of tragedies of the commons with no commensurate benefit.
