It is completely fair enough that not everyone wants things to change and likes roles the way they are

That’s, literally and figuratively, an ad hominem argument. It’s not about “liking.” It’s about engineering. Yes, where one sits often determines where one stands, but that’s a two way street. Is it not also fair enough that not everyone wants things to stay as they are and does not like roles the way they are? Are you advocating some unspecified and necessarily speculative change just because you don’t like roles the way they are? If not, why would you suggest such a thing about those who defend the status quo? The possibility exists that gender roles are necessary to survival. If you haven’t thought about that, or if you think anecdotes disprove the proposition, maybe you’re the one whose biases need examining.
