The answer, of course, is Disney is doing what the rich have done for millenia: it’s mouthing pious words while the money rolls in.

I would look at this through the other end of the telescope. The warning lets parents, who all know that the movie is harmless, show it to their children, knowing that the ritual trigger warning has been performed. The woke police are today's Hays Office. The only difference is that where the Code required a Hollywood ending, today's censors require a Hollywood Beginning. I don't blame the companies for pretending any of this matters, because everyone with a working brain knows that it doesn't.

Old Disney, of course, was full of objectionable material. Dumbo would support an entire semester of social study, as would Song of the South. But these modern things are nothingburgers.
