Economics is not about money. Economics is about production. We can't all eat if no one grows the food. We can't be housed if no one builds the houses. Either we need more babies than we are having to make ENOUGH things, or we don't. If we don't need more babies to make enough things, then we don't need more babies to make more dollars.
Whether banning abortion helps with baby-making isn't clear. I suspect that it does not, and I oppose abortion restrictions. But if there is a moral obligation to fight for the nation's survival - the word "duty" is in such disrepair that maybe there's no consensus on that point either - then there's a moral duty to procreate for the nation's survival. The "almighty dollar" is just a a distraction.
