There have been other black conservative voices, and they have met the same resistance, because grievance sells. At some point, black Americans will have enough financial and social capital to make cooperation with each other a better strategy than competing with each other. Maybe that has happened already, and one can expect heated debate within the community over whether selling drugs and joining a gang creates the best life chances for a young black American man.

But Ms. Owens wears an albatross named Donald Trump around her neck. I refuse to applaud anyone who does not loudly denounce Trump and his minions as a threat to the American experiment. I would be a Republican, if that didn't entail supporting candidates who do not denounce Trump. Nothing Biden wants to do is worse than the main thing Trump wants to do.

Plus, she's an anti-vaxxer, which is dumb.
