There is a sort of straw-manning going on here with respect to the issue of danger. I don't believe that the safety issue is about trans people but about people who will pretend to be trans if trans women are allowed in women's spaces. The women in question are not afraid of the trans people; they are afraid of the cover they provide for non-trans people.

Mr. Osborne fudges this distinction, by saying that some cis-women fear that trans women aren't really trans. But that's not the issue. The issue is whether bad men will in fact pretend to be trans women. It is not a statement about trans women nor does it reflect a fear of trans women. It is a statement about bad men and reflects a fear of a rule that gives them access to female spaces. Thus, the claim is not that "trans people" are dangerous. The claim is that "bad men" are dangerous, and laws that purport to protect trans women unintentionally threaten all women.

One editorial suggestion. In the conclusion, "hardly any trans people regret transitioning" would be much stronger and an actual rebuttal to the claim it addresses. "Most people do not regret" is not inconsistent with "Many people regret."
