There's more to free speech than the First Amendment. Cancel culture is all about private action that silences free speech. It sucks, and one might reasonably protest it without being accused of not knowing Con law.

The irony about Gab is that the Pittsburgh shooter TOLD us what he was going to do, but no one was monitoring the page. That's a police failure, an opportunity that Gab made possible. Do we believe that Gab was necessary to the decision to shoot, that if he couldn't say "I'm going in," he wouldn't have "gone in"?

Gab is where loose lips would sink abhorrent ships, if only we paid attention. Banning it is exactly wrong. The messaging just goes underground, but the atrocities continue.
