This is exactly the right thing to do. There is no reason to give the Republicans ammunition. This is different from Republicans not criticizing Trump even though they think he's awful. Those people actually believe that Biden would be a better president than Trump. They are cowards, putting party over country. The Democrats who think Biden is a poor candidate think he'd be a better president than Trump. They are just being savvy pols.
