This is very close, but not quite there. Trump said it was OK to be male or white. Yes, he gave some comfort to bigots, but the bigots didn't win him the election. The decent people who DiAngelo says are bigots won him the election.

When you cast a ballot, and one candidate says you're the salt of the earth and the other says you're a deplorable sack of shit, what box do you check?

There is also a material element to why the Democrats lost. There really are a lot of white people living on the economic bubble. They are in fact threatened by the end of discrimination and, worse, quotas, which discriminate against them, however justly in others' eyes. The Democrats appeared to want to take what little these guys had. That creates a bias in favor of the candidate who doesn't end every campaign sentence with "....and the LQBTQ+ community."

But you are dead on about the counterproductive nature of woke "training" and about DiAngelo's (and other professional activists') stake in keeping the pot boiling.
