I'm a conservative former Republican. Not just a never-Trumper, but a not-now GOPer. If the GOP rises from its ashes sufficiently penitent, I may vote for its candidates some day. But this party of fascists, racists, plutocrats, sycophants and cowards must lose everything if it is to learn anything..

Like all wars, this one is not going to be fought with the Democrats progressives want, but it will be fought with the Democrats they have. For me, the calculus is the same, except that I don't even get people from my end side of the political spectrum. Makes no difference this time around. Next time will be next time.
