“We won’t tell a racist writer to be less racist, they should be allowed to be racist.”

Not all publication is endorsement; some is exposure. How would you know that there are racist writers unless they are published? How would WE know it if their work isn't aggregated?

I want to be able to find authors whose views I hate. How am I going to figure out why this country elected a fraud like Trump unless I can read what his supporters have to say? The website in question sounds like a target-rich environment.

What, exactly, were you expecting the "other side" to write that you would respond to but also find acceptable to print in the first place?
