What an awful, cringe-worthy, "study" of three uninteresting, self-absorbed, good-for-nothing, feckless parasites. The ending reminded me of the ending of Seinfeld. These characters deserved each other. C'mon!
You can tell from the time-jumping that the story makes no sense as a story, only as a series of "Oh, I forgot to tell you" crap. What do we gain by the flashbacks that could not have been accomplished by presenting the story in chronological order?
And "middling" would be a charitable description of the intrusively percussive and then cloyingly sweet score.
I LIKED Past Lives. That movie was about children who grew up. Challengers is about children who did not.
