What I don't understand is this Red Queen "Off with her head!" stuff. The Georgia law is dumb, but be that as it may, why doesn't the administration say to the teacher that, in the view of the administration, the book may not be read, so she should not read it again. THEN, if she reads the book as an act of insubordination, firing would be the right action under the dumb law. But we keep reading about firings for first offenses. What is that about?
