What species of organism is supposed to implement this paradise? Homo sapiens is clearly not up to the task.
Money is as money does. It is not "defined"; it emerges and is accepted. The currency that allows the collective (the guys who build the roads and deploy the national defense) to do its job will be the currency that everyone else uses.
Money should be issuable for credit, i.e., "backed" by the outputs it finances. Any scheme the depends on incentives and disincentives is wholly compatible with existing capitalist models. Patents and copyrights are examples. Orphan drugs get special treatment. There's no reason regenerative solutions can't be likewise incentivized, if they can be identified and the system not gamed. (Homo sapiens, remember?)
Much of the crypto space is about obsolete tools in whiz-bang wrappers. We had decentralized finance in the nineteenth century. Just start typing "panic of ..." into your browser and watch the list fill. An economy with a coherent fiscal and monetary policy - not always attainable, with those damn humans in charge - is better than the chaos of "DeFi."
