Masculinity in its positive form is beautiful: courage, protection, stability, strength, logic, reason, confidence, loyalty are all masculine qualities.

Which of these characteristics should we expect women not to exhibit so that we can say to a woman “Doing/being that is my job, so don’t you worry your pretty head over it.”?

It won’t do to say that all humans should manifest masculine and feminine traits, because that’s just shorthand for “formerly masculine and feminine” traits; if the traits are not assigned to practicing genders, they are no longer gender specific. On inspection, guys like the author and Mark Greene will discover that non-toxic masculinity is the Oakland of social categories; there is no there there.

(I’m still giggling over the idea that anyone, much less a spouter of inanities like Mark Greene, can be called a “masculinity expert.” The idea is so far beyond absurd that the words fail me.)
