Why is Amir Locke Dead?

Because he slept with a gun.

Amir Locke is dead because (i) his cousin is probably a murderer, and (ii) he felt it necessary to sleep with a gun.

This is the part of “Black-on-Black” crime that self-styled “anti-racists” can’t get their brains around. The warrant that led to Locke’s death was issued because his cousin was suspected of killing a Black man. And the shooting would not have occurred if Locke did not think it necessary to sleep with a gun. So, sure, let’s talk about White cops shooting innocent Black men, as if that’s why Amir Locke is dead. But that isn’t why he’s dead. The White cop shot the innocent Black man because the innocent Black man’s cousin committed Black-on-Black crime and because the innocent Black man felt the need to sleep with a gun. Was that because he was afraid the Klan would come for him?

Yes, it was legal for Locke to have a weapon, and yes, a no-knock warrant may be an unacceptably dangerous tool. And even more yes, no-knock warrants might have gone away long ago if more White people had been killed in their execution. But the fact remains that if Locke did not sleep with his gun, he’d still be alive. According to his mother, Locke had a permit to carry a gun for protection because of his job as a DoorDash food delivery driver. (I wonder what percentage of assaults on DoorDash drivers in his service…
