Well, maybe I’m exaggerating, but I called last week’s unpleasantness the Best Debate Ever, and I feel obliged to hyperbolize symmetrically.
This was a terrible debate because Sen. Harris let too many opportunities go by. The Biden-Harris campaign may think they are far enough ahead on points that they needn’t throw a haymaker. I disagree. Sen. Harris’s job tonight was to remind people how good a man Joe Biden is and how bad a man Donald Trump is. And Mike Hayden’s video was right there for the quoting.
Mike Pence is Mr. Sanctimonious. He defended Trump’s policies, but he was never called upon to defend the man’s character. When Pence raised the question of Judge Barrett’s faith, why did Harris not ask him how a man of faith can carry the water of so angry, envious, greedy, gluttonous, lustful, prideful, and slothful a man as Trump? Really, there’s tape of Trump committing every one of the cardinal sins. How do Mike Pence and the Evangelicals in Trump’s base get past that?
About that ceremony for Judge Barrett: We are paying Pence not to die before Trump. Preserving his own health is Job 1 for the man whose office is otherwise not worth a bucket of spit. How does the guy who’s a heartbeat away from the Presidency enter the same careless Covid space as the Chief?
